Your role? 

You will be a Show Production Manager and work in tandem with a VFX Producer on a project. Your role as a Production Manager will be to function as the Producer’s “right hand”, stepping up to support Producer duties as required and keeping a direct line of communication with the VFX Producer (and/or Executive in Charge of Production) on all aspects of the show. You will report to the VFX Show Producer on a daily basis for show specific tasks. 

What will you be doing?

  • Under direction of VFX Producer, collaborate with Talent managers on day-to-day crew needs as required

  • In collaboration with the Producer and Supervisors, you will create an overall show asset and shot schedule across all disciplines and capitalise on external vendors, using ILM’s best practices for scheduling. You will also oversee implementation of schedule by guiding and directing Production Coordinators, Supervisors and Artist Leads as needed

  • Act as liaison between the client side Production team and the ILM Production team

  • In collaboration with the Producer, you will manage the production crew on a daily basis including directing Production Coordinators and Assistants to ensure all show needs are met

  • Partner with the Producer  in overseeing roles and responsibilities for Production Coordinators and Production Assistants

  • Proactively problem-solve and raise concerns in all aspects of vendor relations

  • Provide support as liaison with vendors for technical and creative issues that arise to ensure work stays on schedule and optimal workflow is adhered to

  • In partnership with VFX Producer, VFX Supervisor, and CG Supervisor, assist in facilitating overall setup of the Show pipeline and toolset

  • Evaluate and learn individual artist strengths to help develop cross utilisation of resources to promote an effective workflow

  • Manage communication between other ILM global sites

  • Act as the leader when the Producer is out of office or otherwise engaged

  • Run bid meetings as needed and there may be budgeting requirements which would be left to the discretion of the Producer. In partnership with the Producer, check Financials to make sure work is on budget

  • Manage client contact when the Producer is absent or unavailable.

  • Consult on creation of a training plan for Production Coordinators and Assistant if needed

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Film, Art or Communications or you have gained that experience
