About the Role
The Manager, Tax Data Management & Innovation (TDMI), plays a critical role in advancing Disney’s global tax technology and data strategy. This position operates at the intersection of tax, data, and technology, driving automation, improving data integrity, and supporting large-scale transformation initiatives across Corporate Tax.
This role will assist with the execution and continuous improvement of key tax platforms and data processes, including ONESOURCE DataFlow, Data Hub, Vertex, and related tax technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline with hands-on technical proficiency and partners closely with stakeholders across tax, finance, and IT to deliver scalable solutions, enhance reporting capabilities, and enable a more data-driven tax function.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Ownership & Delivery
- Oversee and manage processes for ONESOURCE Data Flow, Data Hub, and Provision applications.
- Lead implementation, enhancement, and sustainment efforts across tax technology platforms.
- Partner with IT and external vendors to manage system integrations and resolve complex issues.
- Data Management & Transformation
- Support the development and maintenance of tax data pipelines and transformation processes.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of tax data across systems, including upstream ERP integrations.
- Contribute to the evolution of a centralized tax data strategy aligned with TDMI objectives.
- Automation and Process Improvement
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across tax operations to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
- Leverage tools & technologies such as Alteryx, Power Platform, Python, SQL, and ONESOURCE to build, streamline, and scale workflows.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the speed, accuracy, and transparency of tax processes.
- Project Leadership & Execution
- Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of milestones.
- Support requirements gathering, design, testing, and deployment activities.
- Proactively identify, document, and mitigate project risks & dependencies, and drive resolution.
- Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Ensure tax systems and data processes adhere to internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Support user access governance, data validation, and audit readiness.
- Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and controls.
Requirements:
- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in tax, technology, or data-focused roles
- Strong understanding of tax processes and data flows (income tax and/or indirect tax)
- Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP and tax platforms like ONESOURCE, Vertex
- Hands-on experience with data automation and ETL tools (Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Python, SQL, etc.)
- Experience with AI and machine learning tools — such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude or equivalent
- Proven ability to manage projects and drive cross-functional collaboration
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
- Preferred:
- CPA, CMI, or progress toward certification
- Experience with large-scale transformation initiatives
- Exposure to data architecture, integrations, or analytics platforms
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
