About the Role & Program

Join the ABC News’ Digital team to help create content in both print and video! ABC News Digital crafts text and video content for the ABC News website around the clock. We are based at the ABC News headquarters in New York City.

What You Will Do

An internship on the editorial team at ABC News Digital functions on two levels:

  • Support the editorial tasks of the team, including reporting and writing articles for the website and tackling tasks vital for the operation of the team, such as helping with the production side of articles.

  • Receive thorough editorial training on reporting and writing to the high standards required by ABC News.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Pitching and completing daily general assignment stories

  • Turning around stories with speed and accuracy

  • Collaborating with newsgathering and ABC News Digital’s editorial seniors, as well as the various teams we work with, including for photos, graphics, videos, as well as our platforms and social teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Self-starter and have a collaborative spirit

  • Experience reporting and writing news articles on deadline

  • Willing to learn the various skills needed to craft both video and text content

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Premiere or Avid News Cutter is a plus but not required

  • Familiarity with AP Style

Education

  • Currently enrolled or graduated within the past six months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

  • Must be able to work on-site in New York City and have reliable transportation to/from work

  • Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025. Candidate must be available to work 40 hours/week in Eastern Standard time for the duration of the internship- could be nights, weekends and possible overnights
