Job Summary:

In the Art Director role with the ABC News Marketing & Creative team, you will work alongside the team and report to the Senior Vice President of Marketing. The successful Art Director will conceive, execute, and produce original motion graphic design and content for all marketing creative demands - those best positions and promotes ABC News programs and content, the ABC News brand(s), and that drives audience and affinity (delivering results).

Responsibilities:

  • Conceive, design, and execute graphics for creative content for on-air and streaming platforms as well as for sales, and show-related marketing elements & content.
  • Work with Producers, senior team, and production team, to collaborate, conceive, and execute graphics on topical, as well as brand/image spots and campaigns, often with very tight deadlines.
  • Work with many different file types and formats.
  • Stay in constant communication with team about fluid, ever-changing schedule, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Work nights, some holidays, and some weekends as needed, as dictated by the news cycle and other potential factors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 +years of experience with working both technical and artistically with; Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects Required.
  • Must be able to take on multiple assignments, swiftly research, and produce original high-end storytelling visuals.
  • Experience and proficiency working within tight deadlines & being an original thinker who excels in attending to both the big picture, and ALL the crazy-little-details that make ALL the difference!
  • Must be able to work closely and effectively with full production team and senior staff.
  • Must be able to produce under extreme deadlines & turnarounds.
  • Must be able to execute against brand designs and understand commitment to building brand through design.
  • Must excel at working within a creative team - and inspiring team dynamic.
  • Must also excel at making efficient use of all resources and changing technologies.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to NY 47 West 66th St. (position requires someone onsite 4+days a week)
  • Must be able to work nights, some holidays, and weekends as needed. Required.
  • Must be passionate and love News.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience


The hiring range for this position in New York, New York is $114,500.00 to $157,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
