Job Summary:

The ABC News Digital team sits at the intersection of journalism and innovation — crafting compelling content, including video, that reaches audiences wherever they are: our website, apps, distribution partners, and social platforms. We drive both the day-to-day and the big picture, developing short- and long-term strategies in close partnership with executive leadership. From sparking audience engagement to fine-tuning content performance, our work shapes and elevates ABC News' digital presence at every level.

ABC News is seeking an Associate Digital Video Producer who knows how to tell stories for the way people watch today — vertical, full-screen, and on the move.

This isn’t a traditional TV role. It’s a mobile-native, social-first position for someone who gets excited by the creative challenge of a 9:16 frame, thrives in a fast-moving newsroom, and has the instincts to know what will stop a scroll. You’ll work at the intersection of breaking news and digital storytelling, turning raw footage, archival material, and global reporter feeds into vertical content that connects with millions.

If you love news, love video, and love the craft of making something look effortless under deadline — this is the role for you.

What You Will Do

  • Edit and distribute vertical-optimized, shareable video for all ABC News digital and social platforms

  • Source and transform archival material into mobile-first, vertical presentations

  • Turn raw video feeds into platform-ready content tailored for social and on-the-go audiences

  • Collaborate with editorial partners, reporters, and producers across a global network

  • Contribute creative ideas and help shape ABC News’ evolving vertical video voice

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of video editing experience, ideally including vertical or mobile-native formats.

  • Proficiency in AVID and Adobe Premiere, including vertical-aspect-ratio editing workflows.

  • Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work across multiple teams.

  • Ability to manage numerous projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Positive, energetic approach with a commitment to creativity and team culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience editing within a fast-paced, news-driven environment.

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across departments or teams.

  • Familiarity with Adobe After Effects, especially for vertical motion-graphics packages.

  • Highly organized and comfortable adapting to rapid shifts in news cycles and digital trends.

Required Education

  • BA or BS from a four-year accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience.

The hiring range for this position in New York is $62,400 to $83,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
