Disney Theatrical Group is currently seeking an executive to be Director, Sales & Ticketing with broad experience across both the New York Broadway and North American Touring businesses. This leader must possess a unique combination of analytical, collaborative and strategic skillsets while being able to motivate team members to deliver a top-of-class ticketing experience on behalf of all of our productions.

In this role, the individual must work daily with internal partners such as fellow Sales & Analytics colleagues, Touring, Marketing, Finance, Production, Operations and others while managing external relationships with venue owners and box office staffs, ticketing companies like Ticketmaster and TixTrack and a wide variety of third party sales partners and distributors. Simultaneous to powering critical relationships, this executive is responsible for generating optimal yield and attendance levels on behalf of all DTG productions.

The Director, Sales and Ticketing reports to the Vice President, Sales and Analytics and leads a team of three other Sales and Ticketing professionals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all Sales and Ticketing responsibilities for DTG’s NY Broadway and North American Touring productions, which includes the following areas of oversight:
    • Pricing & Inventory Management
    • Ticketing Operations
    • Sales Strategy
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with Ticketmaster, Broadway.com, Broadway Direct, EBG, Broadway Inbound, TodayTix, TixTrack and other ticketing entities as required on all back-end as well as consumer-facing platforms, including Ticketmaster’s secondary market sales vehicle TM+
  • Oversee an approximately $1M budget intended to empower these efforts
  • Cultivate DTG’s continued use of an end-to-end Guest Service interface and promote use of it by other teams including Operations and Publicity
  • Lead a team of three Sales and Ticketing professionals (including one at a Manager level) with day to day coaching as well as career mentoring
  • Liaise closely with various synergy partners across The Walt Disney Company
  • Moderate travel is required throughout the year  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading entry-level and Manager-level professionals
  • Experience overseeing a budget
  • Experience as the day-to-day operator of no less than two Broadway shows concurrently as well as a familiarity with key Touring Broadway presenters and venues
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the live event industry with analytics, sales and ticketing experience
  • Extensive knowledge of ticketing systems including, but not limited to, Ticketmaster HOST, Tessitura and Nliven
  • A strong proficiency with Excel (including pivot tables, nested functions and data modeling) is required; a basic level of statistical knowledge is preferred

The hiring range for this position in New York is $127,100 to $164,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
