DTG is committed to providing the highest quality opportunities for the widest group throughout their career trajectory. Our internship program provides students with an immersive view of theater administration through on-the-job experience, departmental projects, and educational seminars.
The Legal & Business Affairs department provides all business affairs and legal counsel services to Disney Theatrical Group, including negotiating creative talent, vendor, international licensee, and a myriad of other deals relating to DTG’s worldwide business; negotiating and drafting contracts relating to those deals; and partnering with every department at DTG to provide business and legal counsel. This summer associate position is designed to provide law students with experience in and exposure to all facets of this work.
What You Will Do:
Assisting with drafting contracts and responding to and/or discussing comments with attorneys.
Updating and creating new databases of deal summaries.
Conducting research relating to contract and deal precedents.
Creating a library of template contract provisions and template contracts.
Liaising with other Disney legal departments throughout the company to gather information and assist department members’ legal analysis.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Superior written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Coursework in copyright, entertainment business, entertainment law or other intellectual property areas, a plus
Interest in entertainment business or entertainment law, especially theatre, a plus
Education:
Currently enrolled in JD program.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information:
Must provide full work availability from June 1 through August 14, 2026
Must provide own housing and transportation, position is located in New York City.
