Disney Theatrical Group is currently seeking a passionate self-starter for a summer internship in the Production Department. The Production intern will gain real-world experience in theatrical production, touching on all areas of producing and operating large musicals, from the teams working on some of the most successful Broadway shows (The Lion King & Aladdin) and North American tours (Beauty and the Beast & The Lion King). The intern will also gain insight into both the business and creative aspects of production development, including creative, finance, legal, and marketing.
What You Will Do:
Assisting the Production Department in work related to ongoing worldwide productions of The Lion King, Aladdin, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules as well as several titles in early production and development. Supporting the entire production team in its day-to-day operations, as well as working on specific projects including, but not limited to, the following:
Research on potential creative team members
Assisting with translation work on our non-English language productions
Digitization of Production Assets
Assisting with development of long-term scheduling
Production Anniversary and Opening Gifts & Cards
Technical and design research on upcoming productions
Support for development workshops in rehearsal
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Genuine interest in the theatre industry
Interest in pursuing a career in theatre production or management in any area
Working knowledge of varied editing tools such as Canva, Google Drive, Microsoft Suite, etc
A creative and collaborative spirit, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn
Education
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in theater, business, or related area
Theatrical management and production classes are a plus
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information:
Must provide full work availability from June 1 through August 14, 2026
Must provide own housing and transportation, position is located in New York City.
