WABC-TV is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Executive Assistant. Reporting to the President and General Manager, this position serves as a trusted partner responsible for managing executive priorities, coordinating key initiatives, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the General Manager’s office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary administrative support to the President and back up support to other senior executives

  • Perform overall administrative duties to include, but not limited to, answering and screening incoming phone calls, scheduling meetings and maintaining extensive calendars, handling the preparation and processing of expense reports, auditing expense reports for the group, processing invoices and intercompany purchase orders.

  • Supply additional office support such as distributing mail, filing, photocopying, scanning and tracking documents, and word processing

  • Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of business travel, including trip logistics and itinerary, meeting coordination, as well as remote support

  • Partner with station leaders across News, Community, Broadcast Technology, Creative Services, Programming, Digital, Finance, Human Resources, and corporate teams.

  • Serve as a liaison with employees, corporate partners, community organizations, and external stakeholders.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Participate in the administrative team, providing backup to other assistants and contributing to common administrative duties

  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification

  • Minimum 2 years of executive support experience supporting senior leaders or executives.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and time management skills.

  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.

  • Demonstrated discretion and ability to handle confidential information.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 4 years’ experience supporting executives in media, broadcast television, entertainment, or similarly fast-paced industries.

  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools.

  • Experience using enterprise systems such as Workday and SAP for activities including requisition management, expense reporting, procurement requests, approvals, and organizational reporting.

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled workplace tools and a demonstrated ability to adopt new technologies that enhance productivity and operational effectiveness.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced television news environment where priorities can change quickly due to breaking news and operational demands. Flexibility is essential, as occasional early morning, evening, and weekend availability may be required to support business and station needs.


The hiring range for this position in 7 Hudson, NY is $62,320 to $83,600 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
