As an Accounts Payable Professional for Disney Theatrical Group, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process from invoice receipts to payments and resolving unpaid invoices issues. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, ensure that payments are processed with accuracy and in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities:
Review, code and process invoices and purchase orders to ensure all purchasing/procurement transactions move smoothly through the AP system.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Verify approvals and coding on invoices prior to processing for payment.
Review and process expense reimbursement for DTG company members and ensure that payments are processed on a weekly basis.
Coordinate with internal departments to resolve invoicing and payment issues.
Ensure all AP documentations are attached to invoices and electronically maintained in accordance with company policies procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
Review and reconcile vendor statements and inquiries to ensure all payments are up to date and resolved.
Build and maintain vendor relationships and assist in new vendor set up process when necessary.
Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices related to accounts payable.
Obtain thorough understanding of current procurement/purchasing policies and procedures and accounting systems.
Create purchase orders in SAP and or Coupa
Research and resolve any variances and vendor inquiries.
Work with Site Sustainment/SAP team to resolve vendor setup or payment issues.
Review invoices for sales taxes due and or sales tax exemption and report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
Disburse petty cash by recording journal entry and verifying documentation.
Maintain up to date supplier information, W9’s and 1099 eligibility.
Work with Disney Worldwide share services (DWSS) compliance group to issue annual 1099’s.
Assist production accountants with ad hoc projects such as compiling documentation for internal and external audits as needed.
Assist with quarter-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
Record any necessary journal entries in SAP.
Become subject matter experts in SAP and COUPA and train and aid other DTG casual buyers.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 1 (one) year of relevant experience
Proven experience in accounts payable; or a related role, preferably in a production accounting or entertainment environment
Ability to process high volume of invoices with high accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with diligence and accuracy.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently.
Demonstrated ability to learn the latest programs, applications, processes and provide process improvement ideas.
Adhere to quarter-close deadlines.
Great organizational and time management skills while paying attention to details.
Experience in SAP and COUPA.
Commitment to actively being part of and supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
Accounting degree or relevant coursework in accounting preferred
Experience with process improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices preferred.
Knowledge of sales and use tax regulations and 1099 reporting requirements is a plus.

The hiring range for this position in NYC, NY is $46,100.00 to $56,300.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
