Job Summary:

Do you have a passion for supporting entertainment offerings and costuming needs? We are looking for a Full-Time Costume Specialist to support Disney Cruise Line! As a Costume Specialist, you will play an important role in providing assistance to Disney Cruise Line costuming operations including making deliveries, costuming inventory, assisting with costume fittings, and more. Costume Specialists transport garments to on-property or off-property sites utilizing company vehicles including box trucks on a regular basis.

You will report to the Costume Storage Manager.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport garments to on-property or off-property sites utilizing company vehicles including box trucks
  • Send and receive costume components to cleaning or repair vendors
  • Fill out an alteration ticket on basic repairs
  • Perform small hand-sewing repairs to keep an offering up
  • Assist with costume fittings by helping to dress performers, including usage of technology components
  • Restock product and perform basic inventory reconciliation
  • Continual lifting, lowering, and sliding of boxes and containers and repetitively climbing ladders and stairs
  • Take detailed costuming inventory
  • Ensure costume show quality
  • Working with various glues and epoxies
  • Working with and around costumes made of synthetic materials (fur, latex, Mylar, etc.)
  • Pack costumes for shipping and delivery with attention to detail
  • Performing specialty laundry procedures of unique and specialized fabrics or costumes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid US Driver’s license
  • Receptive to working a variety of shift times that may include overnight hours, holidays, and weekends
  • Receptive to assisting performers in various stages of dress
  • Willing to drive company vehicles, including box trucks, SUVs & multi-passenger vans: be able and a manual transmission
  • Willing to be trained, certified, and operate heavy equipment such as a Roll Loader, Forklift, Scissor Lift, and WAV lift
  • Work at elevations up to 30 feet
  • Lifting bins or objects up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Costuming experience in a theatrical or themed entertainment capacity
  • Experience with supporting the costuming needs of performers
  • Experience with character or mascot building/dressing
  • Experience with packing/shipping logistics and paperwork
  • Knowledge or experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and SharePoint

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
