Team Description:
The Global Information Security (GIS) Data Strategy and Engineering team acquires, enriches, and shares high fidelity, actionable security data within GIS and throughout the enterprise with the goal of improving the The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) security posture to ensure a secure environment for guests to interact with TWDC products and services.
What You'll Do:
We need to add a Senior Data Engineer to our Team! You will...
Lead the design, development, deployment, and operational ownership of scalable data pipelines and data warehouse solutions in a cloud environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Architect and evolve the data platform to support scalability, resiliency, and robust data validation frameworks, enabling high-quality, trusted data across the organization.
Drive engineering excellence by establishing and enforcing best practices, including system design patterns, code quality standards, peer reviews, and comprehensive automated testing strategies.
Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps best practices, enabling repeatable, secure, and scalable provisioning of data platform resources and supporting CI/CD automation for data workflows.
Partner cross-functionally with product management, technical program management, operations, and engineering teams to align on priorities, translate business needs into technical solutions, and deliver data capabilities that support strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of related experience in Cloud development crafting and implementing solutions using AWS services, with an understanding of core services: IAM, S3, ECS, Lambda
Strong programming skills in Python and other object-oriented languages, including libraries such as boto3 and pydantic
Experience designing and operating scalable, production-grade data pipelines (batch and/or streaming), including orchestration, monitoring, and failure recovery.
Experience designing data models that support reporting, analytics, and downstream data products.
Experience using source control systems (GitLab, GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines
Experience building, maintaining and using container technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate
Experience working with IAC, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK
Experience in SQL (Postgres, Snowflake, etc.) and understanding of trade-offs between different data storage systems and architectures (data warehouses, SQL vs NoSQL, partitioning, etc.)
Experience with scripting using BASH, or SHELL
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Experience creating orchestration patterns and infrastructure using Apache Airflow, or other orchestration tools
Experience using Queuing tech, such as SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kinesis
Experience with security protocols or related data
Experience with modern security tooling and DevSecOps in cybersecurity
Experience with AGILE/Scrum practices
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $135,200 - $181,200, in Seattle, WA is $148,700 - $199,400 and in Burbank, CA is $141,900 - $190,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
