Job Summary:

Lucasfilm Animation is the creator of the Emmy award winning animation series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, as well as Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, all now streaming on Disney+, is  looking for a Shot Production Coordinator.

The Shot Production Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Associate Production Managers to create and maintain the Animation and Lighting department records and processes from pre-production through post production on an animated television series.

What you’ll do: 

  • Coordinating the day to day running of the Animation and Lighting department, facilitating schedules through production planning and troubleshooting.

  • Preparing meeting notes, memos, and documents as required.  Capturing, proofreading, editing, and delivering Animation and Lighting dailies notes to our overseas vendors.

  • Populating our internal database with dailies notes, script dialogue, and other pertinent data.

  • Scheduling and organizing meetings for the Animation and Lighting Supervisors, and assisting the APMs in managing their respective supervisor’s daily calendars and task lists.

  • Collaborating with the overseas vendor’s production team by sending and receiving media files and keeping milestone schedules on target.  Organizing and shipping reference materials and Maya files to overseas studios.

  • Coordinating all paperwork and setup required for department turnovers and kickoffs internally and overseas.  

  • Build and maintain effective working partnerships with overseas production staff in order to achieve seamless and efficient workflow through both studios. 

  • Managing the organization and tracking of internal shot work for Animation and Lighting Supervisors.

  • General production support through all departments on an as-needed basis – such as running department dailies, or completing special projects.

What you’ll need: 

  • 3 years of experience in Production, preferably in Animation.

  • Excellent administrative and note taking capabilities, including exceptional listening skills for precise word processing, proofreading, and paraphrasing for clarity as needed. 

  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

  • Must be capable of working independently and as part of a team.  

  • Needs to demonstrate a high level of initiative, flexibility, and confidentiality. 

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, communication, and follow up/follow through skills required.

  • Experience or interest in the areas of Animation, Lighting, or FX.

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently within a high-pressure, fast paced environment while prioritizing appropriately to meet strict deadlines. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animation, Art, Film or related field preferred.

 


The hiring range for this position in San Francisco is $53,581.00 - 66,976.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
