Disney Entertainment Television’s Strategy team is looking for an innovative and strategic leader to fill the role of Executive Director, Marketing Reporting & Analysis. This individual will lead the charge on shaping and driving marketing reporting and analysis efforts across all DET brands, including ABC, ABC News, Disney Branded Television, Hulu Originals, Freeform, National Geographic, and Onyx. The Executive Director will provide key insights, strategic recommendations, and actionable reporting that directly influence DET's marketing strategies and decision-making at both domestic and international levels.
This role demands a visionary leader who can bridge high-level strategic thinking with detailed analysis, ensuring that marketing efforts are backed by data-driven insights and focused on measurable outcomes. The Executive Director will also collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders from departments like Content Marketing Planning & Analytics, Media, Social, and Content Programming, ensuring that marketing performance is closely tied to business goals, subscriber acquisition, and audience engagement.
The ideal candidate will be skilled at driving complex projects, building frameworks that solve marketing challenges, and managing strategic relationships with VPs, SVPs, and EVPs. This role will oversee the Senior Manager, Marketing Reporting & Analytics, ensuring that the team delivers consistently high-quality, actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
Lead Strategic Analysis and Reporting: Spearhead strategic reporting and analysis initiatives for DET brands (ABC, Hulu, National Geographic, etc.), focusing on delivering data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies, tactics, and ROI.
Collaborate with Senior Leaders: Engage with Marketing leadership (VPs, SVPs, EVPs) to define reporting needs, scope projects, and oversee the execution of strategic marketing analyses that influence both domestic and international campaigns.
Framework and Database Development: Create and refine reporting frameworks and processes, including database development, that drive consistency in how performance metrics are set, measured, and reported across all DET brands and Direct-to-Consumer efforts.
Strategic Decision-Making Support: Deliver actionable insights through in-depth analysis of title- and genre-level performance, brand-specific reports, and overall marketing effectiveness. Make data consumable for executives and operationally relevant for teams.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Liaise with cross-functional teams such as Marketing Analytics, Advanced Analytics, and Content Planning & Analysis to drive a holistic view of performance across all DET marketing activities.
Present Insights and Recommendations: Clearly articulate results and strategic recommendations to stakeholders at various levels, using visual storytelling and data interpretation to inform business strategies.
Mentor and Manage: Lead and mentor the Senior Manager, ensuring the team meets high standards for reporting and analysis, and continues to drive innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategy, analysis, or a related field (e.g., consulting, investment banking), with proven experience in reporting and performance analysis.
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (e.g., Marketing, Business, Economics, etc.); a master’s degree is preferred.
Strong ability to influence decision-making at senior levels through the use of data-driven insights, analysis, and strategic recommendations.
A proactive, innovative, and solutions-oriented mindset, with a passion for solving complex business problems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data and insights in a clear, concise manner to various stakeholders.
Ability to balance big-picture strategic thinking with precise attention to detail.
Experience working across large organizations and managing cross-functional relationships to deliver high-impact results.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while driving them to successful completion.
Nice-to-Haves:
Deep knowledge of the video streaming landscape and experience working in media and entertainment.
Advanced proficiency in tools like Tableau, Looker, or SQL for data analysis and reporting.
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $111,000 to $152,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
