Job Summary:

The Marketing Analytics team is seeking a Manager to lead the media & measurement insights function for Hulu. This role will play a critical part in partnering with business teams to measure, understand, and provide insights for Hulu’s marketing efforts across performance, brand, originals, and live. Our team excels in exploratory data analysis, media measurement and strategy, and campaign-level reporting, all aimed at driving business decisions and delivering actionable recommendations. The Manager will build strong relationships and collaborate closely with Hulu Marketing, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Product, Data Science, and Subscriber and Marketing Finance teams to drive Hulu’s growth and understand media performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for both digital and linear media landscapes, with a deep understanding of the intricacies and unique attributes of each step in the marketing journey. The insights and recommendations from this team will be instrumental in optimizing marketing budgets to drive business performance.


 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide leadership for the Hulu Marketing analytics team primarily focused on generating actionable insights and performance reporting

  • Manage relationship with stakeholders across the business, including but not limited to the Hulu Marketing channel leads, Product Marketing and Finance

  • Manage a team of analysts to provide measurement and media insights, with a willingness to roll up sleeves and contribute as needed 

  • Develop and maintain core business logic, data pipelines, and key metrics for measuring media across Hulu performance, brand, originals, live, international and self-serve

  • Oversee the development of operational dashboards in Tableau to understand performance over time, enabling efficient exploratory analysis, and equip partners with self-serve tools

  • Drive team development through coaching, mentoring, training, and leadership growth

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Business, Mathematics / Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Analytics or related fields 

  • 8+ years of relevant data analytics experience including domain expertise in the areas of media, marketing, and/or streaming 

  • Proven track record of building and leading teams of analysts, data scientists, and data engineers

  • Extremely skilled at simplifying complex problems, distilling data, and constructing compelling narratives to guide decision making

  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills with all levels of the organization, from junior analysts to C-suite leaders

  • Expertise working with extremely large, disparate data sets and using SQL for data wrangling, ETL design, and analysis

  • Experience manipulating large data sets and interpreting data trends using a multitude of disparate data sources and tools

  • Fluent in data exploration and visualization tools such as Looker and Tableau

  • Very comfortable translating highly technical analyses into easily understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with scripting languages such as Python or R

  • Experience in the streaming media industry and/or supporting a direct-to-consumer subscription-based product

  • Experience with business application of marketing mix models 

  • Experience in the technology industry and knowledge of how to build and implement data products

  • Familiarity with data platforms and applications such as Databricks, Snowflake, Datorama


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $136,100 to $182,400, and in New York, NY is $142,600 to $191,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
