Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Technical Operations Associate Manager/Manager to join our dynamic Assets Management and Technology team. Reporting directly to the Director based in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in creating and explaining delivery requirements for both global and local Disney+ shows. Your responsibilities include optimizing workflows from production through mastering/packaging, offering technical guidance, and ensuring top-quality content for our streaming platforms.

In this role, collaboration is key as you work with internal teams (Disney Production, Programming, Acquisition, Distribution operations, and Technology) and external parties (Production, Post-Production/house, Vendors). Your tasks encompass sourcing calendars, posting milestones for effective title launches, and leading the implementation of innovative solutions, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement.

The position involves collaborating with global production teams, focusing on APAC-based content, to identify deliverables, optimize workflows, and create plans for each title. A strong emphasis is placed on approaching plans with a technical operations lens, considering localization strategy, mastering/packaging, and readiness for release on Disney+.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in post-production, delivery, mastering, or DI management, demonstrating a nimble approach to quickly executing workflows. They are proactive problem-solvers, adept at making valuable connections with both internal and external stakeholders to address challenges effectively. Proficient in data analysis, they possess the capability to present comprehensive project statuses and summaries. Notably, they exhibit courage in innovation, being unafraid to pioneer new paths, influence partner teams, and escalate matters when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with APAC Production, Post-Production, Content Creative,Programming, Studio Operations, Distribution Operations, Marketing, and Product on workflow, timelines, and requirements per title, keeping each team accountable for their deliverables

  • Run show kick-off calls and the subject matter expert on all deliverables required by production companies for Disney+

  • Understanding of technical specifications with the ability to create specific ones foreach title and distribute to Production teams so they are aware of Disney+ delivery requirements, and plan the budget and deliveries accordingly

  • Source early version cuts for each title to help facilitate marketing and localization workflows

  • Provide title and status updates to Production, Post-Production, Programming, and Marketing so they are aware of any update, shifts, or risk associated with title launch

  • Track deliverables through QC and Mastering/Packaging

  • Build processes to track success metrics by engaging in strategic thinking to visualize and achieve long-term wins and efficiencies

  • Be the bridge between the Product experience and our Production and Creative teams, clearly articulating what the product can and cannot do when it comes to customer engagement

  • Keep up to date with new technologies and recognize how they can help make our work more efficient

  • Work closely with Global Content Operations’ Platform Operations team to define feature requirements for tool development

  • Provide training to the team when new tool updates are released 

  • Maintain a close relationship with Content Security and legal to understand security protocols and asset permissions

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in delivery, mastering, post-production roject management,

  • preferably with a content streaming platform

  • Experience with international series and /or delivery

  • Ability to work to align as much as possible with APAC schedules

  • Strong project management experience and the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and a willingness to pivot as needed

  • A collaborative spirit, especially as an expert at getting things done, all with a positive attitude

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to focus on long-term scalability and growth of the business

  • Ability to dissect workflows and make tool recommendations that lead to more efficient and effective processes

  • Expertise with production and post-production workflows and UHD, HDR, and Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos technologies

  • Ability to question the way we do things and recommend alternative solutions that drive impact for the business 

  • Comfortable using various data management systems and tools (e.g. Google and Microsoft suites, Smartsheet, Airtable) 

  • Clear written and verbal communication and the ability to command a room 

  • Must be bi-lingual in Korean /English or have a working proficiency in English

  • Working Proficiency in any of the following languages a plus: Japanese, Mandarin 

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required
