Disney is seeking an experienced Business Manager for Consumer Products Licensing Business to make an impact by identifying and advancing new business opportunities, with a strong focus on driving accelerated profit growth through insight-based and locally relevant design and products for Korea. The Business Manager is responsible for managing categories and the associated licensees to achieve product, category, and franchise strategies and goals. The ideal candidate would have a proven track record in demonstrating commercial acumen, with the ability to build strong relationships with our partners. They are a change enabler who is organizationally savvy, building strong networks internally and externally.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives to achieve yearly and quarterly business targets for responsible categories.
  • Build and manage the lead generation process and pipeline, identifying high-potential new-to-Disney partners or opportunities to extend relationships with existing partners.
  • Maximize new and existing Disney IP to establish Disney in new retail channels through retail partnerships and activations.
  • Develop relationships within the retail and consumer goods industry, creating new channels of distribution for Disney products.
  • Research and capitalize on new business opportunities and consumer trends, leading the development of strategies and rollout plans for new business initiatives.
  • Create consultative sales presentations using industry knowledge and curating the Disney difference.
  • Monitor business/sales and closely communicate with licensees to drive growth and support their needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Design, and Marketing, to identify new business opportunities, conduct market research, and develop prospecting strategies.
  • Partner with lines of businesses to drive brand and franchise affinity to maximize impact on overall Disney brand equity.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for contract, finance, product approval, and legal processes.
  • Work with the Marketing team for effective promotion and to maximize sales.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in account management, B2B sales, retail, e-commerce, licensing, or consumer products business development.
  • Prior experience in the outdoor, sportswear, activewear, lifestyle, fashion, or consumer goods industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of brand positioning, retail distribution, merchandising, product development, seasonal planning, and creative approval processes, particularly within outdoor fashion, lifestyle, or consumer products.
  • Solid awareness of outdoor apparel, footwear, accessories, performance lifestyle trends, and consumer behavior across retail and digital channels.
  • Proven ability to develop, manage, and grow strategic partnerships with licensees, retailers, agencies, distributors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including creative, marketing, legal, finance, product development, retail, e-commerce, and regional/global business teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Strong presentation and networking capabilities, with the confidence to represent the business effectively both internally and externally.
  • Results-driven and commercially minded, with a demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales, revenue, distribution, and business growth targets.
  • Agile and adaptable, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to respond quickly to market trends, seasonal demands, consumer preferences, and evolving business priorities.
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed, and cross-functional environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organized, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Business-level proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
