Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the division of Disney Experiences that brings beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of families and fans through products – from toys to t-shirts, apps, books, console games and more – and experiences that can be found around the world, including on the Disney Store e-commerce platform and at Disney Parks, local and international retailers, as well as Disney Store locations globally. The business is home to world-class teams of product, licensing and retail experts, artists and storytellers, and technologists who inspire imaginations around the world.
The Assistant Manager, Operations will play a pivotal role in the success of Disney Stores APAC by driving operational efficiency and effectiveness. This position will oversee the management of 3PL Warehouses and the Last Mile function across the broader APAC region, ensuring seamless execution of logistics and fulfillment processes
Responsibilities:
Operations
Vendor Management
- Define and monitor SLAs for third-party vendors, including DCs and Last Mile providers.
- Ensure flawless execution of SLAs, guaranteeing accurate and timely fulfillment of Disney Store orders.
Warehouse Operations
- Manage the local 3PL relationship, supervising warehouse activities to ensure safe and efficient operations, covering stock receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns.
- Plan and oversee daily workflows, resource allocation, and warehouse capacity to meet operational targets.
Logistics and Inventory Management
- Collaborate with Buying, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure timely goods receipt for new product launches and promotions.
- Partner with 3PL to optimize inventory control systems, conduct cycle counts, and manage stock categorization (slow, medium, fast-moving items) for space optimization.
- Conduct audits, physical inventory checks, and quality control measures to maintain accuracy and meet quality criteria.
Process Improvement
- Lead initiatives with 3PL and Last Mile Providers to achieve cost optimization and enhance service quality.
- Support operational reporting/scorecards to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Administrative Support
- Manage procurement, purchase orders, and consumables to support smooth operations.
- Validate vendor billing accuracy and process payments promptly.
- Maintain up-to-date Vendor Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure operations adhere to statutory requirements and company policies, maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
Collaboration
- Communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
- Partner with Buying, Planning, and Sourcing teams to optimize inventory flow and address guest or 3PL product quality concerns.
- Work with Digital and Guest Service teams to enhance guest experiences, including recommendations for checkout, returns, and complaint resolution.
- Collaborate with Marketing to implement packaging, delivery standards, and promotional initiatives that exceed guest expectations.
- Work with Global Operations on inventory balancing and variance investigations.
- Influence stakeholders to improve inventory turnover and resolve aged or excess inventory issues.
Drive Commercial Outcomes
- Efficiently manage end-to-end operations of Singapore and Australia DCs, including shipment receipts, order scheduling, picking, inventory, fulfillment, and returns.
- Benchmark externally and optimize vendor negotiations, contracts, and performance with support from Procurement and Legal teams.
- Track and analyze operational data to identify opportunities and implement solutions with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse/inventory management or a similar role, preferably in eCommerce, omnichannel, or FMCG sectors.
- Knowledgeable in logistics, including carriers, shipping policies, and procedures.
- Experienced in setting up distribution centers, inventory management systems, and logistics workflows.
- Background in project management within an omnichannel or FMCG environment.
- Skilled in interpreting policies and procedures, providing implementation guidance, and identifying improvement areas.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and pivot priorities under tight deadlines.
- Highly adaptable, proactive, and a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and innovative problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective collaborator in dynamic and evolving settings.
