The Southeast Asia (SEA) Corporate Communications team supports a broad range of communications efforts and activities across all business lines, including executive communications, media relations, employee communications, enterprise social responsibility (ESR), research, writing and content development.

This role will gain exposure in the planning and execution of communication strategies and activities, collaborating across various lines of businesses in Disney to deliver communications initiatives across Southeast Asia including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

The position will provide support on the planning and implementation of a range of external and internal campaigns and will help to coordinate all aspects of operational workflows across the region to ensure they are executed effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily media monitoring 
  • Research and report on latest media trends relevant to Disney
  • Draft communications materials, including press releases, talking points, speeches and more
  • Analyse media coverage and evaluate metrics such as share of voice
  • Support on external and internal engagement activities/events
  • Actively participate and support brainstorming sessions
  • Think creatively to develop new concepts/ideas that can support communications efforts
  • Assist the planning and implementation of ESR programs 
  • Manage SAP administration, invoicing and payment
  • Vendor liaison responsibilities to ensure projects adhere to timelines

Internship Requirements:

  • Currently an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree
  • Still an undergraduate and not yet graduated during the internship period
  • Must be available for full-time internship commitment (Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm) between July to December 2024

Requirements:

  • Currently an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Interest or knowledge of The Walt Disney Company’s key brands - Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star
  • Highly self-motivated and meticulous with a strong passion for communications
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a constantly evolving organization, and to thrive in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong team player; possesses good interpersonal skills with a high level of enthusiasm in collaborating in cross functional teams
  • Self-starter that needs minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet competing deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Strategic thinker with good communications skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and Keynote
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to utilize media monitoring tools will be a plus
