The Walt Disney Company’s Strategic Sourcing teams work with all business segments and their suppliers around the world to establish the best value for Disney. Strategic Sourcing provides opportunities for suppliers and contractors to work with the Company to provide goods and services. This approach is designed to create a mutually beneficial relationship between suppliers and The Walt Disney Company. Disney sourcing professionals seek out and contract with companies of all sizes and capabilities throughout the world.

The individual will be part of Disney's International Sourcing and Procurement division, which is responsible for Procurement activities outside of domestic, US and will be responsible for supporting the SEA Strategic Sourcing all goods/services in support of TWDC SEA.

We are looking for a curious mind, with a keen interest in contributing, learning, and applying the full spectrum of sourcing. The ideal intern should be able to write well and possess some form of creativity and zest, good attitude with respectful competitiveness, teachable and adaptable, as well as one who gives off a positive energy.

This role will report directly to SEA Strategic Sourcing Manager based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

Dedicated Project: Set up on Print Media Catalogue 

  • Develop a business plan on to build a simple catalogue for Print Media for event set-up
  • Create a database of commonly purchased items relating to event set up
  • Research on suitable supplier who can provide the services
  • Establish and support relationships with the suppliers

Competitive biddings

  • Support on the existing competitive bidding exercise
  • Manage the stakeholders and suppliers related enquiry 
  • Analyse result submission with markets as a best practice to obtain the maximum quality, service, value and compliance

Data Analysis

  • Research on latest requisition trends relevant to Disney
  • Ideate brainstorming of ideas for opportunities on efficiency
  • Vendor liaison responsibilities to ensure projects adhere to timelines and budgets
  • End to end Project management of digital content involving both internal and external stakeholders

Overall

  • Actively participate and support brainstorming sessions, business reviews and supplier reviews
  • Liaise with different lines of business and learn synergy for cross cultural working

Internship Requirements:

  • Currently an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree/diploma
  • Still an undergraduate and not yet graduated during the internship period
  • Must be available for full-time internship commitment (Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm) between August to November 2024

Requirements:

  • Students pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Strong interest to grow experience in supply chain functions through learning on the job and completing projects from definition to implementation
  • Excellent stakeholder influencing skills.
  • Interest or fan mentality for Disney, Pixar, Marvel or Star Wars
  • Highly self-motivated and meticulous with a strong passion for Sourcing and Negotiation
  • Experience in problem solving and analytical methods is a plus
  • Strong team player; possesses good interpersonal skills with a high level of enthusiasm in collaborating in cross functional teams
  • Adopts a challenging and questioning approach, proposing information and solutions in creative ways
  • Self-starter that needs minimal supervision in motivating himself/herself, always looking for opportunities to contribute to our campaigns and overall projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel & PowerPoint Strategic thinker with good communications skills
  • Creative mindset with the ability to leverage on data to develop strategy/decisions
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
