Job Summary:

ILM Sydney is currently looking for a VFX Assistant Editor who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative mindset and passion for great filmmaking that define ILM.

Your role?

As a VFX Assistant Editor, you will help set up and complete all editorial work as requested by a Senior, Lead or Co-Editor on a feature or episodic projects with tasks including maintaining and updating editorial timelines for multiple artist disciplines. You will ideally have a Bachelor's Degree in Film or related field however people normally are successful if they have some experience and are keen to learn!

What will you be doing?

  • Keep project’s edits up to date with the latest client turnovers and QCing daily department updates.

  • Assist production and editorial teams to provide general editorial support;  abbreviated cuts, updated sequences for internal and client reviews

  • Assist with processing client turnovers and maintaining editorial databases

  • Provide production and VFX departments with editorial reports and other editorial data

  • Work on broader ILM company editorial projects, including, show archiving, marketing and award reels

To be a contributing member of this team, you will have a mix of these skills:

  • Ideally, 1+ years experience with Avid Media Composer or similar editing software

  • Confident ability to multitask and meet deadlines while working under tight schedules

  • Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
