Job Summary:

Overview:

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (WDSMP) has a Toronto-based Sales organization. The Sales Coordinator opportunity will play a strong supporting role in projects that will assist the theatrical sales team’s vital operational and administrative tasks in addition to sales responsibilities for defined territories. This opportunity will involve working with the Director, Sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of pre-release & special screenings within Canada.  This includes trade screenings, word of mouth screenings, promotional partners screening, press and research screenings. 

  • Work with internal and external partners, including WDSMP Marketing, to facilitate, secure, and organize all details of screening requests.

  • Enter and track the screening approval process in our GSS (Global Screening System); provide updates and/or request additional information to and from key constituents as needed.

  • Enter and oversee invoicing and the payment process of all screenings from start to finish.

  • Manage accounts payables for the business unit, SAP Casual Buyer, etc.

  • Directly and independently oversee a small territory or collection of theatres and ensure timely collection of on-account and final-billed film rental on accounts.

  • Maintain and monitor overnight/flash grosses to aid in the sales and holdover process.

  • Collect, enter and troubleshoot Box Office Reports (BORs) identifying any issues of under-reporting and other oddities.

  • Research ticket pricing and historical BORs to support audit claims.

  • Establish and build relationships with external distribution industry partners.

  • Monitor industry performance and compile reports and summaries for the team and internal partners.

  • Collaborate with Cinema Partnerships, Sales Planning and other internal departments as needed.

  • Monitor theatre’s show schedules.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of work experience in a related field

  • Experience in theatrical motion picture sales and distribution or theatrical exhibition

  • Ability to multi-task and switch smoothly from one project to another while dealing effectively with pressure and short timelines.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism while negotiating & dealing with deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Strong analytical skills or some accounting experience

  • Proficiency / ability to quickly learn our studio-based data systems (Ensemble and TVM), as well as third-party systems like ComScore and Webedia

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and some SAP & Concur

  • Bilingual Fluency in English / French preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
