Walt Disney Animation Studios Summer Internship Program is an experience designed for students studying art, animation, computer graphics, and film. This role will be based onsite at our Vancouver studio.
Am I Eligible?
At the time of application, must be either enrolled in an accredited college/university or within 6 months of graduation.
This internship will be based in Vancouver, B.C. for 12 weeks May-August 2025. Interns must be available for the duration of a 12-week assignment.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Open to B.C. residents only who currently have the right to work in Canada.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ production internship program provides emerging talent with an immersive view of animation through educational seminars on craft and filmmaking, and individual and collective projects.
The CG Animation Internship
CG Animators are responsible for bringing characters to life. This program is intended to provide you an immersive look into this creative process while pairing you with mentors from our talented animation department. As an animation intern applicant, your animation reel should demonstrate a good understanding of acting and animation principles such as timing, clear staging, squash and stretch, anticipation and follow-through, and secondary action.

Reel/portfolio requirements:
Acting, Acting, Acting! A reel should consist of a broad range of acting exercises: Pantomime, Dialogue, Walk Cycle, Weight
Focus on different styles of emoting: Subtle to broad moments, Comedic to dramatic
Reels should also focus on a diversity of character personalities to create entertaining and emotionally driven believable performances
Maya/3d software preferred
Traditional animation skills a plus
Reels should be a maximum of 2 minutes long

This position is part of DigiBC’s Work Placement Pilot Program, which supports post-secondary students by providing experiential learning opportunities in animation, video, games, visual effects, and XR. As a part of this program, participating students will benefit from customized orientation workshops, e-learning resources, mentoring support, and the opportunity to start building their own professional network in the creative technology industry. Subsidy funding for this position is made available through the Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) funding grant administered by the ICTC Wil Digital program.
