Key Responsibilities:
In partnership with the Head of Walt Disney Animation Studios, and People and Culture teams in Burbank, create and evolve People & Culture strategies and infrastructure for the Vancouver studio, including organization design, talent management, compensation & benefits, employee relations, learning & development and HR policies and procedures
Drive people engagement strategies that align with business priorities and foster an environment where all employees are respected and valued
Integrate diversity and inclusion strategies and priorities into business plans in partnership with Opportunity and Inclusion team
Coach business leaders on HR policies and processes including talent planning, learning and development, and performance management to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development
Translate near and long-term operating goals into People & Culture strategies; initiate and implement the work with key stakeholders and functional partners to ensure appropriate solutions are delivered to address business strategies including Canadian tax credit compliance.
In partnership with Department Managers and Craft/Show Leaders, assess talent capabilities and development needs based on business strategy in order to help close gaps between current and future skill sets
Work closely with WDAS communications teams to ensure the Vancouver studio internal comms are consistent, timely and localized
Represent the Vancouver studio as it relates to
Working with and alongside industry peers and advisors for sharing knowledge and best practices
Active participation in industry associations; monitor and drive key legislative progress and changes and assess their impact on the studio
Challenge the status quo; pursue different approaches to our work by demonstrating flexibility, nimbleness, transparency, agility and global thinking
Build effective and productive relationships with internal stakeholders and clients at all levels of the organization and act as an effective bridge builder across all functions and levels within the organization
Lead, mentor and develop the local People & Culture team
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in human resources, organization development, or related talent planning field

You have a deep understanding of HR rules and practices in British Columbia

Animation industry knowledge or relatable industry experience is preferred
Required Education:
BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or equivalent experience
The hiring range for this position in Vancouver, BC, Canada is $130,500 to $175,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
