The Senior Safety Professional, supporting Entertainment, serves as a key technical resource for project safety for Disney Live Entertainment project(s).
The Senior Safety Professional will report to the Senior Manager, Worldwide Safety.
What You Will Do
On any given day, as a Senior Safety Professional, you might:
Drive implementation of safety programs, performing job task analysis, analyzing injury and illness trend data, evaluating safety performance, and identifying opportunities to improve safety performance
Lead Entertainment incident investigations and follow up
Investigate and propose innovative and practical safety solutions to while ensuring risk mitigation/minimization and safety/regulatory compliance
Improve performance, review source material (rules, codes, laws and standards), identify and share industry practices
Ensure implementation of applicable safety standards and established regulations
Lead efforts to engage and collaborate with global and local partners to drive and ensure consistency across the Segment regarding Entertainment Safety
Actively participate in Hazard Analysis meetings providing comprehensive subject matter expertise, hazard predictions, and risk evaluation support and ensuring proper mitigations, implementation, training, and documentation
Participate in the Disney Live Entertainment Design Assurance Process including blue sky, design development and review, hazard analysis, and project implementation, and testing
Provide subject matter expertise to Entertainment Standards and Safety Program development
Provide Safety support for Character development and design
Collaborate with Safety Professionals supporting the daily operation to ensure smooth project turnover between production and operation
Collaborate with and inform representatives from federal agencies
Provide guidance and mentorship to other Entertainment Safety Professionals across the segment
Participate in relevant industry committee meetings on behalf of the Walt Disney Company and communicate outcomes to leaders and interested teams
Articulate to project leadership and contractor’s applicable standards, regulations, data (lagging and leading), emerging technologies, best practices, and risk reduction techniques
Effectively communicate identified trends, significant near misses and incidents with project and safety leadership
Required Qualifications & Skills
Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:
5+ years Basic Entertainment, occupational safety or engineering experience or related
In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards and best practices as well as internal company standards and business practices
Self-driven and resourceful professional with the ability to solve problems outside areas of expertise
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to operate within an ambiguous and changing environment
Proven strong planning, organization and prioritization skills
Experience with strategic thinking, prioritization, and initiation of tasks
Experience with proper writing, speaking, and presenting to all levels
Resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations
Preferred Qualifications
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education
Master’s Degree in related field

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $105,100-$140,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
