Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with senior production staff, (Coordinating Producers and VP’s), the role involves identifying and developing content that effectively interprets and enhances the overall concept of live sports programming and to document events accurately and tell compelling stories that are relevant to the telecast.
- For assigned sports events; plans and coordinates the full scope of event producing activities of a large full time, temporary and/or matrixed staff of production personnel, technicians, and other professionals accountable for program development and production; Directs assigned production personnel in all aspects of live event production.
- Leads the on-site production arrangements for the assigned production model; establishing production schedules up to and through the event; establishing the format and sequence of events for the live broadcast; with the assigned director, determining the technical needs of each assigned telecast; oversees and controls the flow of production assets for assigned sports productions.
- Leads a team of production staff (e.g., APs, CAs, PAs) to conceive of, plan and execute the production of, teases, bumps, edits, graphics, live event integrations, etc.
- Provides direction and guidance to on-air talent during lead up to and during live programming.
- Works alongside production and technical crew to properly document the event at or above company standards.
- Organizes, structures, and leads meeting to develop the content of assigned sports events.
- Fosters a collaborative environment within the production team, ensuring that everyone is aligned on the broadcast's goals and vision.
- Live event production responsibilities include collaborating on and overseeing the implementation of all production-related decisions at the venue before and during the event, e.g., working along side replay review models (both live and during breaks in action), application of graphics, whether or not to do post-event interviews and with whom along with following the list of required sales and promotional items and any “production priorities” that may have been communicated prior
- Leads the moment-to-moment editorial direction of the content of each assigned live event telecast including, storylines, replay angles, graphic content, and announcer / commentator information;
- Produces assigned sports telecasts independently with regular guidance and review from the responsible Vice President/Coordinating Producer.
- Provide direct and constructive feedback on the performance of assigned production crews to ensure alignment with company standards and objectives.
- Maintain strong leadership in a group environment, fostering professionalism, collaboration, and effective communication. Ensure positive working relationships within the production team to support teamwork and objective reporting.
- Oversee and support direct reports, guiding their professional growth by delivering timely, constructive feedback. Assist employees in setting and achieving career development goals.
- Train, coach, and mentor production staff on idea generation, encouraging innovation and creative thinking. Provide ongoing support for personal and professional development within the team.
- Participates in decisions regarding the full scope of creative, content, production, and some cost/benefit decisions for assigned events.
- Coordinates and resolves content and production issues with technical and operations staff and outside resources selected by Vice President/Coordinating Producer.
- Participates in feedback and information meetings both on the assigned sport/event and as a department
Qualifications:
- Ability to create and produce compelling live sporting event telecasts; generates and executes assigned live event productions, from concept to execution.
- Knowledge of various sports production models (both on-site & remote) and the ability to line produce sporting events as assigned.
- Knowledge of real-time live sports productions include replay producing, graphics execution & event timing
- This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, along with the ability to work under pressure and handle complex logistics.
- Extensive knowledge of what story ideas and concepts to use for assigned sports events.
- Extensive knowledge of playing rules for assigned sports events.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively complex related remote or related sports production experience
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's Degree

- Position requires ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be willing to travel.
