Job Summary:

Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Marketing is a dynamic, results-driven marketing team responsible for positioning films and streaming content released by Disney (live action), Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios. This organization oversees the Studios’ global marketing strategy encompassing creative, media, digital, international, promotions, publicity, research, special events, and synergy, and handles some the most valuable film brands and franchises of all time. Thanks in large part to the efforts of the marketing team, the Walt Disney Studios has set numerous records at the box office, including being the first and only studio to surpass $3 billion domestically and $7 billion globally in a calendar year, milestones it has achieved twice.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall support to Awards Team
  • Partner and work extensively with internal departments to provide and/or receive necessary information, materials, approvals, updates, etc.
  • Maintain awards team distribution lists and general office documents
  • Update campaign-specific awards documents while ensuring awards team information is populated into Riley and Weekly Snapshot
  • Assist with decks and reports for filmmaker and exec meetings as needed
  • Oversee event transportation and logistics and book cars for awards events (awards Q&A, press activity, ceremonies, events, etc.)
  • Maintain master schedule and coordinate logistics leading into and onsite for awards events including Q&As, receptions, ceremony, industry events, etc.
  • Book screening rooms, handle DCP requests and manage screenings for awards press, guilds and voting groups (working with Specialist who handles invites)
  • Responsible for working events including screenings and awards shows.
  • Track budget spend across the awards team and work with Procurement and Finance to process invoices and submit vendors on behalf of the team (publicity and creative).
  • Handle meeting coordination details including logistics, preparation, invitations and other materials.
  • Responsible for meeting agendas, notes, and recap memos (prepare, circulate, and archive)
  • Arrange meetings or conferences by booking conference rooms, issuing meeting requests through Outlook, sending emails and coordinating materials.
  • Screen and flag important incoming emails to appropriate team members.
  • Preparation of all business-related expenses ensuring expense reports are completed and filed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with uploading content for submissions (Specialist to take the lead with Debut access)
  • Support Director's calendar as needed

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 1+ year of cumulative relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated interest in awards and publicity, ideally with relevant education and/or internship experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain an efficient office, files, database, and information
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority projects and appropriately prioritize work and meet deadlines, make decisions and change course of action quickly
  • Ability to be proactive and resourceful, make independent decisions when handling sensitive and confidential information, while exercising good judgment and discretion.
  • Anticipate needs of Director and manage office time efficiently.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Proficient in Outlook, Keynote, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Experience working within the entertainment industry highly desirable


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $53,300 to $71,300 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
