Job Summary:

This role reports to the Director and collaborates effectively with all members of the Awards team. The Sr. Publicist is responsible for developing and executing awards campaigns for film and television across Walt Disney Studios, 20th Century Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel, and Disney+. Primary duties include managing the FYC screening program, submissions, talent relations, press relations, event management, and special projects.

Please note - This is a Project Hire with the anticipated end date of 02/28/2025. This is an IATSE Local 600 Publicist Guild position covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates approval from Director and collaborates with the team to execute the operations side of awards campaigns; ensuring all strategic goals are met and that information is properly disseminated.
    • Primary liaison for key Awards Press, Festivals and Voting Bodies, including but not limited to BAFTA, Golden Globes, TV Academy, Publicist Guild, Annie Awards, and VES.
    • Primary liaison for international offices and responsible for seat allocation at worldwide special events (international and domestic) for all voting groups and awards press.
    • Collaborate with targeted/field and domestic publicity teams to identify opportunities for collaboration; ensure voters are invited to events when possible.
    • Manage FYC screening program and special event logistics including budget and vendor management, working with relevant team members for execution.
    • Identify and secure opportunities for filmmakers and talent including press, events, and pay-for-play.
    • Work with Director and Title Teams to manage relationships with assigned talent and their representatives.
  • Maintains and fosters positive, productive, and collaborative relationships on behalf of the awards team across all LOBs.
    • Assist with special events/exhibition displays and receptions, including budget and vendor management.
    • Ensure all voting groups receive access to content in line with strategy and voting deadlines.
  • Responsible for submissions including managing submissions agency, ensuring that key decisions, updates, and deadlines are routed appropriately.
    • Communicate frequently with Director on project status and follow-ups to prioritize and clarify project needs.
    • Provide support to Director and performs special projects as needed.
  • Takes the lead on certain awards campaigns, under supervision from Director.
    • Support campaigns with organization, collaboration, transparency, timeliness, and follow through.
    • Check-in screenings as needed; when junior team members are not available.

Skills and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in awards publicity campaigns.
  • Has relationships with key voices in the awards space, from awards pundits to bookers.
  • Has the ability to pitch press, generate offers and facilitate requests.
  • Has the ability to mentor and teach junior team members.
    • Possesses strong presentation skills, both oral and written.
    • Exhibit professional, timely communication.
    • Excellent collaborator.


The pay rate for this position in Burbank, CA is $3,266.20 per week based on a 56-hour work week.
