What You Will Do
The Senior Manager, Social Impact will lead the strategic development and execution of select social impact programs with a focus on disaster relief, employee giving, and nonprofit board service. This role will also support the development and implementation of The Walt Disney Company's social impact strategy, lead select NGOs relationships and manage KPIs to measure success. If selected for this role, you will report to the Vice President, ESR Program Strategy and Development.
Disaster relief:
Manage the company’s disaster relief charitable programs and processes, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and key nonprofit partners.
Lead the development of the charitable disaster relief strategy as well as the day-to-day execution of disaster relief charitable efforts, when major disasters strike. Cultivate and manage relationships with NGOs and other stakeholders to maximize impact
Accountable for the execution of the required agreements and processes with internal and external parties to enable timely response, communication, and reporting of disaster relief efforts. Oversee and manage disaster relief budget
Employee Giving:
Lead and manage the company’s employee giving strategy and programs, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and key nonprofit partners. Identify ways to prioritize, maximize resources, and minimize risk.
Accountable for the execution of the required agreements and processes with internal and external parties to enable timely response, communication, and reporting of employee giving efforts. Oversee and manage Employee giving budget
Executive Nonprofit Board Service:
Develop and implement standards, policies, and procedures for executive nonprofit board service at The Walt Disney Company.
Lead the socialization and training of service standards and offer guidance as executives evaluate their own investments to determine opportunities that may align with the company’s priorities.
Manage exec honoree standards & practices; training for those managing such events
Corporate Philanthropy:
Serve as a subject matter expert for corporate philanthropy, staying informed about grant-making trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Translate subject matter expertise into actionable briefings, trainings, and guidelines to strengthen internal stakeholders’ knowledge and corporate giving practices. Coordinate closely with legal, philanthropy operations, finance and compliance teams across the company.
Oversee and manage the company’s global giving guidelines, ensuring alignment with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility mission.
Work closely with the philanthropic operations team, keep charitable giving compliance and documentation training up to date and create and serve as a resource to internal grant makers on guidelines / best practices.
Consistently review internal processes for risk and efficiency and evolve as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
7+ years of experience in corporate philanthropy, grant management, or nonprofit governance.
Global granting experience and understand challenges and solutions to global charitable giving.
Solid understanding of grantmaking practices, legal requirements, and compliance issues related to corporate philanthropy.
Outstanding communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience collaborating closely with legal partners and executive leadership.
Proven track record developing and managing philanthropic budgets and drive strategic impact.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing disaster relief efforts is a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, philanthropy/nonprofit management, political science, CSR, International studies, or a related field

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $135,000 to $170,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
