About the Role & Team

The Global Environmental Sustainability Team at The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) oversees the Company’s progress towards its 2030 Environmental Goals focused on emissions, water, waste, materials, and sustainable design.

As part of this broader team, the emissions team focuses on analyzing, planning and supporting implementation of emissions reduction efforts including zero carbon electricity initiatives.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the key technical expert on scope 1 and 2 emissions forecasting and mitigation, including zero carbon electricity options, energy and fuel efficiency in buildings, and electrification of buildings and fleets.

  • Lead the modeling of scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction pathways, including Business as Usual emissions, secular changes (such as grid greening), regulatory changes, business growth and emissions reductions resulting from specific company initiatives

  • Lead execution of enterprise-wide zero carbon electricity contracts

  • Support development of decision-useful data and analytical frameworks for evaluating cost effectiveness of individual scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction measures to help select the most effective approaches to achieving the company’s goals

  • Provide robust data analysis and technical expertise to support scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction decision making by implementation teams throughout the enterprise

  • Support further development of environmental goals and targets with technical expertise, data analysis and thought leadership

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years experience in renewable energy, energy efficiency and electrification, and corporate climate strategy development and implementation

  • Software: Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a complex matrixed organization

  • Experience with maritime fuels

  • Experience with negotiating renewable energy contracts

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in related field (engineering / energy / environmental sustainability)

  • Preferred: Masters in Environmental Sustainability / MBA


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $137,200.00 to $183,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
