Job Summary:

The Talent & Growth Center of Excellence (COE) is responsible for defining and delivering enterprise wide talent strategies—spanning talent management, leadership development, executive experiences, skills foundations, performance, potential, and succession planning. The team designs integrated, data driven solutions that help the organization know, grow, and prepare its talent, while enabling consistent, scalable practices across all segments.

The Senior Manager, Talent & Growth plays a critical role in shaping the future of our executive leadership experiences. You will be responsible for designing and executing executive development experiences that align with Disney's leadership expectations and values. This role is crucial in ensuring that our senior executives are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to drive innovation and business results in an ever-changing market.

The Senior Manager reports to Director, Talent & Growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead executive development experiences for leaders across the globe including, best-in-class onboarding, mentoring and cohort-based or eventized learning, aimed at continually ensuring a ready-now bench of executive talent to lead the company into the future.
  • Be an expert on industry trends in the senior executive development space including emerging executive skills, behavior change, and executive experiences; making recommendations on integrated experiences.
  • Maintain highly collaborative partnerships with People & Culture, Talent & Growth, Talent Connection and business leaders to ensure co-creation that meets evolving business needs in-the-flow-of work.
  • Bring a learning mindset, agility and adaptability as priorities evolve to align with ever-evolving business priorities. 
  • Invest in team: leveraging individual strengths, encouraging creative problem-solving, and supporting development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with various stakeholders across People & Culture to support effective and high-impact executive onboarding for new hires, newly promoted executives or executives entering new roles, ensuring an accelerated on-ramp for new or newly promoted executives and scale foundational improvement to all employee onboarding. Design tools, resources, and experiences that seamlessly integrate executives into the TWDC culture, address their unique onboarding needs, and result in faster time to productivity.
  • Expand executive mentoring experience with select executives, pairing internal subject matter experts with rising leaders to create future-ready executives.
  • Critical support for the development of professorship program bringing internal and external industry experts to executive populations to create advanced awareness on trending industry topics to drive innovation and business results.
  • Foster relationships with an internal and external network of speakers and luminaries for engagements and activations across the enterprise and business groups.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in progressive People & Culture (HR) teams or related fields.
  • Learning mindset and demonstrated ability to experiment with new technology and tools to create and deliver experiences.
  • Ability to partner with multiple clients and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to influence executive audiences.
  • Strong project management and consulting skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to make strategic recommendations.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an HR Business Partner, consultant, or equivalent with direct interaction with executive leadership.
  • Experience with instructional facilitation for complex businesses.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, or a related field.

Preferred Education:

  • Advanced Degree in Education, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Behavior/Psychology, or Organizational Development/Effectiveness.

The hiring range for this position in California is $160,200.00 to $195,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
