Under the oversight of the Executive Director Technical Operations and reporting to Manager Facility Operations, sees that shipboard operations are maintained to show quality standards (SQS) and is responsible for the marine and safety operations Disney Cruise Line Fleet and the Company’s Island destinations.

What You Will Do

  • Create and maintain Continuous Review Processes (CRP)

  • Work with Facility Manager and ship facility teams to see that SQS standards are maintained

  • Assists with specifications for new ships

  • Seeks to minimize cost while improving product efficiency

  • Assist in projects including with preparations for Dry-dock interior projects as assigned by the Executive Director Technical Operations or Facility Operations Manager

  • Partners with ship’s management to discuss interior and exterior maintenance and assist as needed with shore support

  • Prepares monthly status report of each area (front and back of house, including crew quarters), which includes area of focus, priorities and scheduled completion dates

  • Available to sail when needed

  • Conducts SQS walk process.

  • Uses AMOS database for purchase orders

  • Is the shore responsible person for timely close-out of items on the global maintenance list

  • Indirectly lead the Interior Furnishing Plan (IFP) team with all related technical projects. Assist in developing a buttoned–up IFP strategy long and short term with accurate financials for fleet.

  • Responsible for coordinating interior projects inclusive of all phases (financial, planning as well as execution.)

  • Research and introduce new products, more economical and effective.

  • Create procedures for reducing the amount of labor hours spent by the deck maintenance crew dedicated to interior repairs

  • SMS responsibility to uphold the general safety management responsibilities in areas under their control

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including telephone etiquette skills

  • Strategic planner with sound technical and people skills, analytical ability, sound judgment and operational focus

  • Ability to communicate, leadership, and collaboration

  • Ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization including great analytics skills needed to correctly lead the training operations and the strategic planning for the development of operational and professional training programs

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with employees and management

  • Must have ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a highly diverse environment and able to complete operational imperatives in a swift and demanding environment

  • High attention to detail with strong negotiation and organizational skills

  • Strong IT skills and competence with excellent working understanding of Microsoft Office

  • Operational business knowledge related to Project Management, including budget and schedule management

  • Ability to handle projects from an operational and a professional standpoint

  • Proven knowledge of technical and interior maintenance work

  • Ability to travel and be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Disney Show quality

  • Handled confidential large-scale concurrent projects

  • Dry Dock experience

  • Maritime experience

  • Lean Six sigma green belt or greater

  • PMP or other project management certifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
