The Show Sustainment Manager - Lighting is responsible for sustainment of current shows and entertainment facility lighting maintenance for Disney Cruise Line Entertainment including partnering with DLE on show remounts of existing seasonal shows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute lighting support for non-show, marine facility infrastructure
- Stay current with lighting technology research and development efforts within industry.
- Partner and consult with DLE-DSE lighting designers and vendors to ensure Disney quality, compatibility, training, and proper documentation of all lighting services delivered.
- Subject matter expert for all theatrical laser systems in partnership with DLE designers and laser vendor support.
- Function as a resource to maintain the proper training of shipboard technicians.
- Conduct on-going “Entertainment Show Quality” evaluations of existing offerings and provide support to maintain their original show intent.
- Maintain up-to-date show documentation.
- Assist with continued development and maintenance of the DCL Resource Training Lab.
- Partners with shoreside Entertainment Technical Operations to manage lighting sustainment schedules.
- Partners with shoreside Technical Production Manager to facilitate shoreside training for new hire technicians.
- Partners with shipboard Manager of Entertainment Technical and shipboard entertainment technical teams with regards to current show installations.
- As a leader, the Show Sustainment Manager - Lighting provides leadership and functions as a mentor/developer, promotes company-wide standards and efficiencies, and provide professional and social guidance to partners through exemplary personal behavior.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Entertainment Industry working in theatrical design, show development and live show operation.
- Superior understanding and working knowledge of current technology and industry standards for all aspects of lighting design (theatrical, industrial, concert, touring, etc.), as applied to live show and facility systems.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in lighting practice and procedures including show design, fixture selection, and lighting programming.
- Proven ability to deliver on a project’s established scope, schedule, and budget.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and decision-making skills, often under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership, partnering and strategic planning skills.
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD).
- Proven ability to support the creative process by collaborating with other designers, directors, writers, and producers.

The hiring range for this position in Celebration, Florida is $91,000 to $121,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
