This role is considered remote, which means the employee will work remotely on an ongoing basis and will not have an assigned workspace at a Company designated location.

Job Summary:

Job Summary

In this role, the Video Operator is responsible for supporting the engineering needs of our remote broadcast and will paint and shade cameras, plus monitor, troubleshoot and maintain the technical operations of our remote events. Provides technical engineering in the planning, design and implementation of a wide variety of events.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adjusting video levels, black/white balance, and color balance between all cameras.
  • Patches and routes video, works with video team/staff to place monitors for talent and the show.
  • Ability to troubleshoot any video problem including camera, cabling, lens, etc. issues/concerns
  • Manage and organize remote compound video, fiber cable and source list.
  • Organize, plan and develop workflows with support of Operations and Production partners.
  • Introduction to some system design and building and on-site integration and set up to include video path, fiber linked systems, digital video compression and transmission standards, PC networking, Master Control facilities and hub, and network storage systems. This will include broadcast trucks, fly packs and fiber kits.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years practical remote production operations experience at network level in a Video role.
  • Proficient knowledge of the functions of operations of live production equipment.
  • Proficient in reading and operating a waveform/vectorscope (formats – SDI and IP, HD, UHD, and HDR).
  • Manage overall camera look and shading needs.
  • Monitor and adjust signals and monitors as needed.
  • Set up, operate and knock down video equipment on site as needed.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting using technical acumen and strong communication tools to best convey issues and resolutions.
  • Schedule flexibility must be available to travel and work weekends and holidays as schedule and show needs require. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of broadcast equipment and remote production show needs. 
  • Knowledge of fiber optic systems and cabling.

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelors Degree

The hiring range for this remote position is $67 p/h to $82 p/h, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
