What You Will Do

The Disney Live Entertainment (DLE) Project Coordination Intern supports a diverse range of projects, including technology development and show delivery. This role integrates work across all Live Entertainment disciplines, ensuring streamlined communication and efficient process workflows throughout each phase of a project—from initial concept and design through production, installation, and final delivery.

The intern is responsible for uniting various disciplines to collaboratively solve challenges and achieve results. By focusing team members on the project’s integrated goals, the intern fosters collaboration between internal and external stakeholders, including project team members, vendors, and consultants. This position focuses on clear communication regarding deliverables and action items.

Maintaining a comprehensive, bottom-up perspective is essential for the coordinator to ensure all aspects of the work are addressed and no efforts are duplicated. Serving as the central point of communication and connection, the Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the project team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Monitor meetings and communications, identify actionable items, and provide timely updates to ensure integration and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with the project team to identify, prioritize, and track issues to resolution.
  • Develop and maintain essential project documentation, including scope lists, deliverable matrices, and shipping documents.
  • Partner with various teams to create both digital and physical presentations throughout the project life cycle, and participate in presentations to executive management, using judgment and discretion to determine appropriate content.
  • Coordinate and integrate project information with internal and external organizations, such as the project team, technical experts, creative and design teams, operations, municipalities, vendors, and contractors. Compile, validate, and reconcile project information and documentation within the appropriate file management system.
  • Ensure all project update tools—such as dashboards, online forms, and status notes—are kept synchronized and current.
  • Connect with senior-level Project Coordinators, Producers, Technical Directors, Project Managers, and Team Leads to provide status updates regarding schedule progress, required inputs, and milestone completion.
  • Support travel planning, including authorizations, booking, and itinerary management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proactive, self-starting attitude with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to track multiple project priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel—including use of formulas, PowerPoint) and Keynote.
  • Interest and knowledge in Live Entertainment, Theater, Themed Entertainment, or Immersive Experiences.
  • Willingness to learn about new technological trends within the dynamic Live Entertainment and Immersive Experience industry.
  • Ability to both give and receive direction, adapt to changes, solve problems, build relationships, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours as required to meet business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in stage management, production management, or as a producer, including expertise in communication and scheduling.
  • Experience in creating compelling visual presentations using Keynote or PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Airtable, Smartsheet, or similar project management tools.
  • Experience with Premiere or other video editing software, including the ability to edit video clips for presentations.

Education

  • Senior or Graduate students currently pursuing a degree in theater, entertainment, technical design or business-related fields

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work  
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship 
  • Responsible for your own housing.

The pay rate for this role in Glendale, CA is $26.50 per hour.
