Job Summary:

Disney’s Direct to Consumer (DTC) team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment helping to bring The Walt Disney Company’s best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere. The Disney+ Programming and Content Curation team is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, slate management, and programming insights that contribute to a cohesive strategic content approach for the service.

The Disney+ Content Programming and Subscriber organization is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, and slate management across our iconic brands, including Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, Pixar, Disney Branded Television, National Geographic, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures.

What You Will Do

The Disney+ Content Programming team ensures that the Disney+ and Star+ global frameworks drive audience engagement and content discovery with local relevance. Reporting to the Director, Content Programming, the Manager, Content Programming will prioritize capabilities to enhance subscriber engagement and optimization, including:

  • Develop and lead optimized merchandising tool capabilities with the Programming Optimization, Personalization, and Product teams
  • Measure subscriber performance and optimize journeys for engagement in partnership with Data, Lifecycle and Product Marketing teams
  • Manage the development of Disney+ global content programming, promotion, retention, and engagement strategy
  • Operationalize and curate regional, territorial, and global editorial merchandising and promotion strategies
  • Build, check, and publish programming within the CMS and other toolsets
  • Identify audience programming gaps and audience segment opportunities
  • Partner with operational teams to ensure content and asset availability supports merchandising strategies
  • Partner with product on testing new features in CMS to improve guest experience
  • Partner with Programming Optimization on testing needs, and testing implementation as needed
  • Partner with Programming Data & Insights teams to take action on findings
  • Leverage service, market, and behavior data, as well as audience research to drive effective programming strategies

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in digital media, programming strategy, or operations
  • 1+ years of leadership experience managing direct reports
  • Capable of successfully managing multiple high-priority projects in varied stages, with precision and thorough attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong prioritization abilities, and effective time management skills
  • Expertise in building audience engagement and a deep understanding of TWDC's content library, brands, franchises, and characters.
  • Experience with the Google Suite and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of digital media platforms, including hands-on management of web, app, streaming, and connected devices
  • Skilled in navigating a complex organizational structure and capable of working independently
  • Proven track record of excelling in fast paced work environments
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with senior management, staff, and external research professionals.
  • Strategic, creative, and proficient in advanced data analysis and interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Streaming experience a plus
  • Airtable, Tableau, and Looker proficiency a plus
  • International experience a plus
  • Multilingual proficiency a plus

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required


The hiring range for this position in CA is $102,000.00 to $136,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
