The Strategy & Use Cases Product Owner provides strategic leadership for new technology adoption across Disney Experiences (DX) Communications. This role is accountable for ensuring these investments are intentional, prioritized, and impact-driven—partnering with senior communications leaders to define high-value use cases, establish success metrics, and maintain a disciplined roadmap aligned to DX business priorities and brand considerations.

This role ensures technology adaptation efforts deliver measurable value and move beyond experimentation into sustained operational impact.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Communications & Public Affairs leaders across DX to identify and shape high-impact technology use cases aligned to strategic priorities
  • Build, own, and maintain a prioritized use-case roadmap, balancing near-term value with long-term capability development
  • Define success metrics for new technology initiatives, including time savings, quality improvement, risk mitigation, and adoption readiness
  • Serve as Product Owner for Communications tech initiatives, translating business needs into clear requirements for Solutions and IT teams
  • Lead new technology pilots from concept through adoption decision, ensuring strong business cases and executive visibility
  • Act as the primary liaison with internal departments relevant to the work (e.g., Technology Enablement, Legal, etc.)
  • Ensure experimental initiatives uphold DX brand integrity, accuracy, and responsible-use principles
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and change management considerations to support adoption across domestic and international DX Communications teams
  • Continuously evaluate emerging capabilities while maintaining focus on Communications outcomes

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years leading technology-enabled initiatives such as product management, digital strategy, communications enablement, or business transformation roles
  • Proven experience owning roadmaps and prioritization decisions tied to measurable business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Strong analytical skills; experience defining and tracking success metrics
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and executive communication skills
  • Experience working closely with technology delivery teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Communications, Public Affairs, Media Relations, or Brand Management functions
  • Familiarity with technology governance, risk, and responsible-use frameworks
  • Experience operating at the intersection of strategy and execution (e.g., product owner, transformation lead)
  • Background in large-scale, guest-facing, or reputation-sensitive organizations
  • Experience influencing senior leaders without direct authority

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Communications, Business, Digital Media, Technology Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $139,200.00 to $186,600.00 per year and in New York is $145,800.00 to $195,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
