About the role:
The Manager, Graphic Design leads a team of designers responsible for producing creative assets from concept to final artwork. This role provides creative direction, oversees workload distribution, and ensures high-quality execution aligned with franchise, consumer, and business needs.
This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Graphic Design. This position has the option to be on-site in Glendale, CA or Orlando, FL.
What You Will Do:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Graphic Designers; provide feedback and performance guidance.
- Oversee creative development for style guides and portfolios across multiple properties.
- Translate franchise strategies into creative direction and actionable workstreams.
- Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of creative assets.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product Design, Brand Merchandising, Licensing, Franchise, and Studio partners.
- Work with great key partners within Disney and the respected IPs from Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel and 20th Century.
- Ensure consistency of creative standards and brand integrity across all deliverables.
- Introduce new creative techniques and approaches based on market and trend insights.
- Pitch creative and work closely with retail partners to build strong alliances and build our North American Licensing business.
- Facilitate ideation sessions and foster a creative, collaborative team environment.
- Present creative concepts to leadership and partners in formal and informal settings.
- Troubleshoot creative challenges and guide designers toward solutions.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 6 years of professional experience in graphic design, character art, or merchandise design.
- 2+ years leading or mentoring designers.
- Advanced knowledge of Graphic Design principles and brand application.
- Strong traditional and digital drawing skills; ability to critique and elevate creative work.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to excel in a dynamic work environment with fluid timelines and priorities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Keynote.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Product Design knowledge and experience are preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Design, Illustration, or related field experience.

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $91,000 to $121,900 per year and in Glendale, CA is $95,500 to $128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
