Job Summary:

About the role:

The Sr. Graphic Designer is responsible for producing Creative assets via style guides from concept to final artwork. Works under general supervision to create unique and original artwork with a franchise and consumer-centric approach. Meets deadlines under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.

This role reports to the Manager, Graphic Design. This position has the option to be based on-site in Orlando, FL or Glendale, CA.

What You Will Do:

  • Development of Graphic Design for style guides and portfolios across multiple properties and cross divisions
  • Ideas generation for Franchise expansion
  • Art style/new technique development to co-ordinate with trends in the marketplace
  • Work with great key partners within Disney and the respected IPs from Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel and 20th Century.
  • Stay updated on trends and advancements in product development techniques to inform and enhance designs
  • Contribute new product ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions
  • Responsible for maintaining high Graphic Design standards for the region
  • Understands Graphic Design and how it translates to products
  • Fresh and inventive creative thinker
  • Awareness of marketplace trends
  • Able to present creative concepts on both formal and informal settings
  • Strong team player

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2 years of related work experience in graphic design, character art illustration or merchandise design
  • Strong knowledge of Graphic Design with an understanding of fashion and merchandise design
  • Strong traditional and digital drawing skills, and concepting skills
  • Ability to illustrate and stylize characters a plus
  • Hand lettering/custom typography
  • Ability to excel in dynamic work environment with fluid timelines and priorities
  • Product Design knowledge and experience a plus
  • Pro-active / Can-do attitude
  • Creative toolset skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Suite, Keynote)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Art, Design and/or Illustration

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $75,700 to $101,400 per year and in Glendale, CA is $101,400 to $106,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
