About the Role & Program:
The Walt Disney World Environmental Affairs Team supports the Company objective of preserving and enhancing the environment using intelligent and conscientious business practices and active community outreach. Our team of engineers and environmental professionals is dedicated to providing professional direction, leadership, and direct services to ensure compliance with local, state and federal requirements and to promote long-term, environmentally responsible operations. This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from June 2026 – January 2027.
What You Will Do:
· Work with Environmental Affairs Reps to become familiar with regulated equipment on-site, such as emergency generators, petroleum storage tanks, grease traps, etc.
· Develop a process and database for the gathering and management of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data for regulated equipment.
· Gather vital GIS data by going out into the field, researching existing databases and/or getting in touch with various partners.
· Develop and implement an Operating Guideline for the continual update of GIS data and parameters.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
· Desire to pursue a career in environmental compliance, policy or regulation.
· Working knowledge of GIS.
· Basic knowledge of environmental programs such as hazardous waste, solid waste, drinking/wastewater, etc. either by coursework and/or previous co-op/intern work experience.
· A working-level understanding of environmental requirements.
· Technical writing skills to complete various reports and operating guides.
· Experience with data gathering and data management.
· Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills.
· Self-starter with proven initiative - able to balance multiple tasks and priorities.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
· Candidates must have a valid U.S. Driver’s license
Education:
· Junior or Senior year preferred.
· Major in a natural science, geography or engineering discipline preferred.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from June 2026 – June 2027.
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, FL area.
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
