About the Role & Team

The Supply Chain & Travel Enterprise Sourcing team focuses on managing the Company’s third-party supplier strategy for freight/warehousing related services. Our goal is to partner with our clients throughout the enterprise in the strategy development, analysis, selection, negotiation, and ongoing relationship management of our suppliers in compliance with our internal policies and procedures to drive supply chain excellence, protect the Disney brand, and mitigate risk.

We are responsible for Sourcing & Procurement activities related to freight transportation (particularly containerized ocean, LCL, and heavy air freight modes), Third-Party Logistics, Warehousing, Corporate Travel and various 3rd party operational services with a focus on client management, supplier management, and category development in support of the business units and/or Segment. We are accountable for partnering with various collaborators and supporting sourcing initiatives that achieve value without compromising business strategy and performance.

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate outstanding integrity and ethics in all instances

  • Participate in cross-functional sourcing projects with key internal partners

  • Evaluate vendors, firms and other consultants based on established selection criteria

  • Develop and lead RFI/RFP’s process for various goods and professional services, in accordance with The Walt Disney Company policy and procedures.

  • Analyze bids based on total cost/supply to find opportunities to achieve optimal value

  • Prepare and implement clear, structured negotiations following pre-defined Strategic Sourcing methodology

  • Prepare and implement contracts as well as perform post-award administration (e.g. negotiating, issuing change orders, contract closeouts)

  • Understand and assist in the development and execution of performance management programs with suppliers that focus on quality, responsiveness and cost

  • Communicate and report to management the status of any critical external relationships that could affect planning and decision-making

  • Analyze marketing industry trends and conditions that affect internal partners and external suppliers and/or pricing

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in a strategic sourcing or supply chain/international freight-related environment, particularly in containerized ocean and/or heavy air freight disciplines

  • Ability to analyze complex processes and lead workgroups to help resolve problem areas

  • Proven experience with the RFI/RFP process

  • Proven capacity to influence future clients at all levels in the organization

  • Excellent communicator able to demonstrate optimal communication with senior management

  • High-energy, self-motivated with a desire to excel in a multi-stakeholder environment

  • Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Meticulous and highly organized

  • Strong negotiation skills

Education

  • BA/BS degree required

  • Specialization in Business, Supply Chain Management or other quantitative discipline preferred
