The approximate date of this internship is May/June 2026 to August/September 2026 and will be located in Orlando, FL.

What You Will Do

As a Color & Paint Intern, you will be supporting documentation and implementation of approved color design intent. The intern will work with the Color Designer and the Project Team to implement the color strategy from documentation to implementation! This dynamic and creative individual must be capable of creating paint finishes that fulfill design intent and will be responsible for ensuring that the Color documentation is supportive of current industry standards and supporting production strategy.

You will have the opportunity to…

  • Acquire color and paint direction from Color Design Lead
  • Implement color documentation based on direction from Color Design Lead and Color and Paint Specialist Lead
  • Provide support as required for models, color boards, sample production, vendor liaison, scenery production
  • Mix paint colors to match palettes as recommended by the Color Design Lead

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to mix paint to match commercial color swatches
  • Ability to paint architectural renderings, 3-Dimensional models, props, scenery, and perform faux-finishes on a variety of surfaces
  • Familiarity with typical tools of the trade, such as brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
  • Ability to take verbal direction and implement such from a variety of standout colleagues such as Color Designers, Art Directors, and Show Producers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with 2-D and 3-D digital design tools, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with black light painting technique
  • Previous internship or related experience/Studio experience preferred

Education

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a BA, BFA or MFA in Theatrical Design, Film Design and Production, or Two-Dimensional Art or related

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship 
  • Be at least 18 years of age 
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization 
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work 
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $27.50 per hour for graduate level students.
