Job Description:
- Responsible for providing the leadership, direction and technical support to effectively manage in field construction activities for new development projects at Hong Kong Disneyland.
- Oversees construction projects in accordance with approved budgets, schedules, project plans and specifications. The role includes collaboration with diverse teams that include project managers, project planners, designers, engineers, technical and creative members, contractors and sub-contractors.
- Works within a Construction Management team, and are responsible for every aspect of mechanical show & ride system development from concept through installation.
- Plans and schedules all mechanical, show & ride related works and maintains the appropriate files, records and inspection forms to permit statutory inspections and report work done.
- Holds construction progress meetings to review installation procedures for all major materials used and has a thorough understanding of the project specifications and industry standards for mechanical, show & ride installation.
- Coordinates work flows, safety, environmental concerns, manpower requirements, materials requirements and overall schedule through weekly progress meetings with the project team, contractors and sub-contractors.
- Assures that the work adheres to the project plans, specifications, codes, and other governmental agencies requirements. Carries out inspections and insures that all testing is being performed per ATP (Acceptance Test Procedures) and the contract documents.
- Oversees and perform mechanical, show and ride installation / testing activities which require equipment / site surveys, use of active fall protection equipment, navigating a construction site with catwalks, ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and confined spaces.
- Responsible for keeping high quality control standard on the project: holds all works accountable for adherence to the approved QA/QC plan.
- Assists in the replies of all required construction management processes including but not limited to: RFIs, Shop Drawings, Method Statements & Risk Assessments, Submittals, Punch Lists, Short Form Agreements and other documents as required.
- Assists the contractors and vendors for the application required on site access, lay down and other logistics.
- Coordinates and facilitates the closeout of the project, to assure all punch list items are completed in a timely manner and that the owner is satisfied with both the quality and timeliness of the project as it is completed.
- Works with operation and maintenance team for proper turnover and commissioning at the close of a project.
- Assists to keep a safe work environment for the project and holding each individual on the project accountable for safe behavior.
- To bring a passion for maintaining and developing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the project teams.
Qualifications / Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree holder from college or university in Construction Management, Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required;
- 15+ years or above relevant experience at construction management & attractions maintenance within the theme park industry;
- 10+ years of theme park’s operations management / team leadership experience;
- Solid knowledge in content of Disney’s Global Safety Systems, local and regional codes and ordinances that inform a ride attraction design;
- Excellent leadership, influencing power and collaboration skills in managing comprehensive projects with theme park owners, designers, engineers, architects, etc.;
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays with short notice is preferred;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.
