About the Role & Team
 

Are you an expert video content acquisitions manager looking for a new challenge? An opportunity has become available for an Acquisitions Manager to join Disney and help us acquire exciting content for the Disney+ platform in alignment with Annual Operating Plan targets across EMEA. In this role, you would collaborate closely with our local Acquisition’s Teams across the EMEA Region supporting their acquisitions activities for Disney+ and the linear channels (where applicable).

We are keen to find someone who excels in managing relationships, as this role will ask you to manage a vast range of internal stakeholders across Disney. The Acquisitions Manager will  manage Acquisitions related projects in collaboration with multiple departments, such as Programming, Operations, Legal, Finance, Compliance and more to ensure alignment at every key milestone

What You Will Do
 

Oversee Disney+ Acquisitions UK & EMEA:

  • Identify, screen and select cost efficient EU Quota content regionally.

  • Support other buyers in identifying, screening, pre-selecting content per Acquisitions Strategy guidelines.

  • Supervise & handle pre-signature and post-signature administration of deal negotiations (Negotiations Authorization Forms, Title-By-Title Tracking, Content Prep Budget Checks, Localization Requirements, Deal Approval, Deal Archive, …).

  • Run & maintain financial data in the Content budgeting application for regional and local acquisitions.

  • Help the team in preparing decks for internal and/or external use, and support or carry out ad hoc requests where relevant.

Lead Acquisition Coordination team:

  • Line manage Acquisitions Coordinators hub with 2-3 team members.

  • Supervise all deal administration tasks for regional deals UK and local deals, when required.

  • Coordinate support activities to local Acquisitions Teams (deal administration onboarding, trainings etc.).

  • Facilitate communication between local and regional Acquisitions departments to improve intra-regional dialogue as it pertains to EMEA Acquisitions & Content Strategy.

Linear Channels Acquisitions:

  • Collaborate with local Acquisitions teams on budget planning cycle, as well as process optimization.

  • Track local acquisitions (intracompany and third-party acquisitions).

  • Coordinate with the Global Product Management team system enhancements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Significant experience in television acquisitions, distribution, production or related media field.

  • Experience in contract and deal management.

  • Proficiency with Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.

  • System savvy (we use multiple systems to track deals, acquisitions, register titles and Licensors, …)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Line management and project management experience.
