As Stage Lighting and Special Effects Technician you will maintain and repair lighting equipment while working with pyrotechnic products and theatrical special effects equipment. You will set strike and perform required show tracks and operate the Lighting / SPFX for Walt Disney Theatre production shows.
You will report to the Senior Technician Walt Disney Theater
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair lighting equipment including lighting rig checks and the completion of required documentation
- Safely handle, set and dispose of pyrotechnic products onboard
- Collect, receive, load and manage inventory of all pyrotechnics
- Prepare and load confetti cannons
- Set, strike and perform required show tracks for all Walt Disney Theatre production shows
- Operate the Lighting / SPFX tracks for all Walt Disney Theatre production shows and train to be the backup Show Control Technician - WDT
- Be an important contributor to the Walt Disney Theater Team with responsibilities for load in and load outs, Cast changeovers, new show installations, equipment tests, vendor support, movie premiers and company events.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum two years show production experience in a similar role
- Experience with repair, maintenance, and operation of intelligent and generic lighting equipment including a wide range of intelligent lighting fixtures
- Experience with computerized lighting control systems
- Knowledge of special effects systems including smoke and pyrotechnics
- Understanding of staging, scenic and props
- Can work at heights, with heavy equipment and in an environment with second-hand smoke, haze, fog, dry ice, and other special effects

This is a shipboard role
You must:
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
- Obtain a criminal background check
- Bring approved work shoes
