Senior Social Media Analytics Manager (National Geographic)

Job Summary:

National Geographic is looking for an experienced social media analytics expert to help in managing, monitoring and reporting on all things social across magazine, editorial and television accounts. With an audience well over a half-billion we’re looking for someone with a passion for stats, understanding the data, organizing reports and thinking strategically around how what we’ve learned can be applied to our organization’s social approach and content.  

Excelling in this role requires knowledge of a wide range of social tools, an interest in and passion for social marketing and communications, and an understanding of the fast paced and data driven spaces in which Nat Geo works.  

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze and interpret social data sets.

  • Managing agency and analytics platform relationships.

  • Provide insights into social campaigns, strategy, content and stats.

  • Create internal and external facing social analytics reports.

  • Help identify trends based on data.

  • Provide insights on campaigns and projects to help refine strategies and approaches. 

  • Maintain up to date expertise on social platforms, including APIs and data limitations, social trends and culture.

  • Present to leadership on key social analytics takeaways.

  • Working on Sprinklr, Comscore, Adobe and Emplifi systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience with social analytics and analyzing data in a content driven environment to make strategic decisions.

  • A demonstrated understanding of social platform tools and best practices across Instagram, Facebook, X, and more.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • A high degree of drive, energy, accountability, and initiative.

  • Ability to build and manage both internal and external relationships.

  • Strong deck creation and presentation skills.

  • Excel proficiency and experience with analytics tools including but not limited to Sprinklr and Adobe Analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Emplifi software.
