Are you highly motivated and willing to learn about merchandise category planning? Then, this opportunity is for you! As an intern, you support the business by assisting with quarterly/annual assortment strategies and supporting daily analysis of item/category performance to optimize in-season opportunities and minimize liability. This intern will support the leader with business insight and analytics to achieve all financial objectives. You will learn how tools are used to analyze business performance and assist the Merchandise Planner in developing item/category assortment plans that improve sales and profitable returns on inventory levels.

This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from June 2026 to January 2027.

What You Will Do

You will gain valuable experience as you identify stock concerns, proactively communicate action plans with the Planner, and assist in launching the product. You will also help with special projects, as needed. If you exhibit strong analytical, organization, and prioritization skills, as well as proficiency in systems and processes related to planning, apply today!

On any given day, you might:

  • Review weekly sales performance and communicate recommendations to drive business performance

  • Communicate add/drop assortment changes to help advise future orders

  • Partner with a Merchandise Assistant to ensure all product releases are delivered on time and communicate any concerns immediately

  • Partner with Location Planning & Allocation to confirm all in-stock items are accurately set up and selling in all intended locations

  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for leadership to outline in-season program performance and provide recommendations on future assortment strategies

  • Proactively manage Planning tasks such as RTVs and price changes

  • Create, revise, and track purchase orders while collaborating cross‑functionally to support accurate setup and on‑time product launches

  • Walk stores regularly, finding opportunities to improve store performance through assortment changes

Required Qualifications & Skills

Please apply if you have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools, Business Objects, and Retail Reporting Systems

  • Validated strong data mining, financial, and analytical skills

  • Ability to collaborate with peers and partners using sophisticated written and interpersonal tools

  • Attention to detail, proactive, with strong follow-through skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Critical thinking and a problem-solving approach are needed to meet adventurous timelines

Education

  • Junior or senior preferred

  • Major or previous coursework in Business, Finance, Economics, Math, Merchandise Planning, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship​

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program

  • Be at least 18 years of age​

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization​

Additional Information

  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines while at work

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 - January 2027

  • Must have the ability to work full-time hours (approximately 40 per week) Monday - Friday, for the duration of the internship

  • Being able to provide one's own housing and reliable transportation to/from work is required

The pay rate for this role in the Orlando, Florida area is $22.50 per hour.
