Are you passionate about data-driven decision-making, merchandise strategy, and creating unforgettable guest experiences through product storytelling? Then, this opportunity is for you! As an intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Location Planning & Allocation team, which shapes the financial and strategic direction of our merchandise locations. Your work will have a direct impact on how products are presented, replenished, and experienced by guests.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from June 2026 to January 2027.
What You Will Do
You will apply your analytical skills and business acumen in a dynamic retail environment, contributing to the strategic planning and execution of merchandise assortments across various retail locations. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandise Strategy, Planning, and Operations teams to optimize product flow, forecast demand, and drive revenue—all while gaining hands-on experience in merchandise financials and trend analysis.
On any given day, you might:
Analyze business performance using financial reports, KPIs, and trend data to identify opportunities for maximizing revenue and improving guest engagement
Forecast inventory needs and establish presentation quantities to support product launches and seasonal events
Develop merchandise strategies in partnership with Planning and Strategy teams, using guest insights, financial data, and operational feedback
Create product flow calendars and floor plans in collaboration with Visual Presentation to ensure cohesive storytelling across locations
Recommend replenishment and backfill strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels and data integrity
Communicate with Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of merchandise plans and strategies
Required Qualifications & Skills
We’re seeking candidates who are analytical thinkers, collaborative, and passionate for retail strategy and driving business results through strategic planning and financial insight.
1+ years of experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, or business development (internships or academic projects count!)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong understanding of merchandise planning, financials, forecasting, and trend analysis
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with financial planning software or retail analytics tools
Education
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Business, Finance, Retail/Merchandise, Math, or a closely related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines while at work
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 - January 2027
Must have the ability to work full-time hours (approximately 40 per week) Monday - Friday, for the duration of the internship
Being able to provide one's own housing and reliable transportation to/from work is required
