We are seeking a Retail Business Development Manager to fill a new position on the Domestic Parks Business Development team. The Parks Retail Business Development team is focused on creating growth and value for the Domestic Parks/Disney Signature Experience (DSE) merchandise line of business through business analysis, the identification of new opportunities in support of business strategies, capital planning, capital project management, and initiative/project development and management.

The position will report to the Director of Retail Business Development and Business Support.

What You Will Do

Are you driven to create significant value through the identification of major opportunities, development of key initiatives and projects, and action-oriented analysis and recommendations? If so, we need someone that will bring outstanding analytical, strategic thinking, influence, and project management skills to an evolving portfolio of projects and initiatives.

Business Opportunities Development:

  • Lead key retail projects, including analysis and recommendation development, creating significant value for the business through revenue growth initiatives and cost reduction initiatives. The projects are typically closer-in from an impact standpoint.
  • Proactively drive targeted analysis of the merchandise business specific to both Sites and domestically that leads to changes in the business.

Analysis and Decision Support:

  • Facilitate addressing short-term opportunities and daily business issues.
  • Understand and assess competitor impacts on the business.
  • Support Planning, Location Strategy, Product Strategy, and Merchants on Business Case development and decision support for initiatives.
  • Look across the businesses to understand performance trends and opportunities.
  • Lead ad hoc analysis and work on other, non-capital, projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of validated experience in retail roles, financial analysis and/or strategy development.
  • Proven creativity in identifying business opportunities and addressing issues.
  • Solid understanding of the Parks merchandise business inclusive of planning, capital projects, and store operations.
  • Strong communication and relationship skills with a proven track record to influence partners and key business decisions.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Synthesize financial information into a concise story and communicate the story to various levels of leadership.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter with natural curiosity and the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work within a complex, matrix organization and find creative solutions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative fields
