We are seeking a Senior Manager, Retail Strategy to fill a new position on the Domestic Parks Long Term Retail Planning team. This group will develop strategic financial plans to drive growth and profitability while delivering on the Guest experience, partnering to develop long-term goals, objectives, and resource plans for the business. You will also drive major strategic projects that significantly impact results.

The Sr. Manager will report to the Director of Retail Strategic Planning

What You Will Do

In this role, you will drive long-term growth and significant value through key strategic projects and initiatives to drive business growth and impact how the business operates. You will bring outstanding analytical, critical thinking, influencing, and project management skills to an evolving portfolio of projects.

Business Development:

  • Lead major strategic merchandise projects to create significant value for the business through revenue growth and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Proactively drive targeted analysis of the merchandise business specific to domestic sites, focused on significant changes in the business.

  • Develop key partnerships with Sites and other merchandise functions to find opportunities.

Strategic Perspectives:

  • Contribute to the development of new and revised merchandise objectives and strategies

  • Act as a consultant with merchandise partners to provide an analytical and strategic perspective on their initiatives. Input will include risk analysis and perspectives on alternatives.

  • Develop and bring historical performance to key initiatives to improve decision-making and reduce risks.

Industry and Guest Insight:

  • Understand retail and theme park industry trends. Share insight with partners and use information to develop potential opportunities and risks.

  • Develop and share insights on Guest behavior in a storytelling fashion that facilitates understanding of the opportunities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years’ experience in analytical or development roles.

  • Proven creativity in identifying business opportunities and addressing issues.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop comparisons from multiple sources.

  • Excellent communication and relationship skills with an ability to influence partners and key business decisions.

  • Excellent written communication skills. Proven track record of synthesizing financial information into a concise story and communicating the story to various levels of leadership.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple priorities.

  • Self-starter with natural curiosity and navigating ambiguity.

  • Ability to work within a complex, matrix organization and find creative solutions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative fields or equivalent experience.
